As ancestral shrine enshrined tablets of 7 kings including King Taejo in Koryo Dynasty and held memorial services, in 6th year of King Taejo(1397), they built Jeongjon(a political palace) of the first king of Koryo Wanggun and held memorial services of 7 king including Taejo in the first year of King Jeongjong (1399) and named this place Sunguijon in the 2nd of King Munjong. It was built cozily in the trail of Mt. Ami that dark blue Imjingang could be seen.
Sunguijon has kept lots of stories since it was built as the ancestral shrine holding memorial services 3 king of Koryo including Taejo and 16 worthy retainers, and it is the place that has been enshrined the founders of successive kings of Chosun Dynasty such as Sungryeongjon of Pyongyang, Sungdukjon of Gyeongju, Sungryeoljon of Jiksan, Chungnam.

Moreover, it was established at the site of Angam Temple, the native temple of the first king of Koryo, Wanggun and reached to today. Detailed history of Sunguijon is as described below.

918 - 943. Family Name-Wang, other name -Yakcheon, Posthumous Title-Geon
¨è King Hyeonjong 992(11th year of King Seongjong)- 1031(22nd year of King Hyeonjong), the 8th king
of Koryo dynasty, Posthumous Title is Sun, other name is Ansae, Posthumous Name-Wonmun
¨é King Munjong 1019(10th year of King Munjong)- 1083(37th year of King Munjong), the 11th king of
Koryo dynasty, reigned during 1046 - 1083, Posthumous title is Hui, other name is Chokyu,
Posthumous name is Inhyo
¨ê King Wonjong 1219(6th year of King Gojong)- 1274(15th year of Wonjong), the 24th king of Koryo
dynasty, reigned during 1259 - 1274, Posthumous Title-Sik, Other Name-Ilsin, the first son of King
Gojong, Posthumous Name-Sunhyo

1) Jigyeon Bok: Meritorious retainer at the founding of Koryo dynasty, Place of Origin-Ocheon. He
had Wanggun take the throne with Hyeongyeong Bae, Sunggyeon Sin, and Hongyu and received
posthumous conferment of honors as Taesa. His posthumous name is Mugong.

meritorious retainer at the founding of Koryo dynasty, founder of Uiseong Hong clan, Posthumous

3) Sunggyeom Sin: ? - 927(10th year of King Taejo). Meritorious retainer at the founding of Koryo
dynasty, Place of Origin-Pyeongsan, Posthumous Name-Jangjeol

4) Geumpil Yu: ? - 941(24th year of King Taejo). Military commander in early Koryo dynasty,
meritorious retainer at the founding of the dynasty, Place of Origin-Pyeongju, Posthumous Name-
Chungjeol

5) Hyeongyeong Bae: ? - 936(19th year of King Taejo). Military commander in early Koryo dynasty,
meritorious retainer at the founding of the dynasty, place of origin-Gyeongju, posthumous name-
Muyeol

6) Hi Seo: 942(25th year of King Taejo) - 998(1st year of King Mokjong). Diplomat in early Koryo
dynasty, place of origin-Icheon, He rendered distinguished services in restoration of southern
territory of Amnokgang. Posthumous name-Jangui

7) Gamchan Gang: 948(3rd year of Jeongjong)- 1031(22nd year of King Hyeonjong). Famous military
commander, place of origin-Geumju, he rendered great services in exterminating Kitan at Gwiju
sweeping victory. Posthumous name-Wiyeol

8) Yungwan: ? - 1111(6th year of King Yaejong). Great statesman in the middle of Koryo dynasty,
place of origin-papyeong, rendered distinguished services in exterminating Yeojin clan and
going/reclaiming northern area. Posthumous name-Munsuk

9) Busik Gim: 1075(29th year of King Munjong)- 1151(5th year of King Uijong). Civil minister and
scholar, place of origin-Gyeonju, suppressed rebellion of Myocheong and compiled <Chronicle of
Three Kingdoms>. Posthumous name-Munyeol

10) Chwiryeo Gim: ? - 1234(21st year of King Gojong). Military commander, place of origin-Eonyang,
rendered great services in exterminating Kitan who invaded several times, posthumous name-
Wiyeol

11) Chung Jo: 1171(1st year of King Myeongjong)- 1220 (7th year of King Gojong). Civil minister, place
of origin-Hoengcheon, great general who exterminated Kitan and famous as wise prime minister,
posthumous name-Munjeong

12) Banggyeong Gim: 1212(1st year of King Gangjong)- 1300(26th year of King Chungryeol). Military
commander, place of origin-Andong, suppressed rebellion of Sambyeolcho and participated in
conquest of Japan. Posthumous name-Chungryeol.

13) U An: ? - 1362(11th year of King Gongmin). Military commander, founder of Tamjin An clan,
rendered great services in exterminating Honggun clan who invaded in the years of King
Gongmin. His official rank has reached to Pyeongjangsa.

14) Bangsil I: 1298(24th year of King Chungryeol)- 1362(12th year of King Gongmin). Military
commander, founder of Haman I clan, rendered distinguished services in exterminating Honggun
clan who invaded in the years of King Gongmin His official rank has reached to Head of Privy
Council.

15) Deukbae Gim: 1312(4th year of King Chungseon)- 1362(11th year of King Gongmin). Civil minister,
place of origin-Sangsan, rendered great services in exterminating Honggun clan who invaded in
the years of King Gongmin. His official rank has reached to Jeongdangmunhak.

16) Mongju Jeong: 1337(6th year of King Chungsuk)- 1392(4th year of King Gongyang). Faithful
retainer, scholar, place of origin-Yeonil, As a faithful retainer and scholar of Sung Confucianism
who tried to correct fate of Koryo dynasty, he was respected as the founder of Dongbangihak .
