Dolmen is one of the representative tomb styles in Bronze age. It is an important
resource to examine cultural and social aspects of the time, and can be divided
into table(northern style), checkerboard(southern, foundation style), and open
style(baseless style).
Dolmen in Yangwon-li, Yeoncheon was made in table style in which tomb room
was made with 4 foundation stones on the ground, and cover stone was placed
on top of them. Shield stones to block the both sides are gone, only two of
foundation stones remain.
The cover stone(4.5m ¡¿ 3.5m in dimension, 3.75¡¿ 3.20 in side) is greatly tilted
due to the imbalance of the right stone, and the articles inside the tomb are
believed to be stolen. Left stone is 2.70m¡¿ 5.5cm, and the right stone is 2.65m¡¿
42cm in dimension.
