Soongeui Shrine Site
Jongwoo Park , Unsung, a father-in-law of a king¡¯s, was a civil minister in
early Chosun era. His family origin is Unbong. He married to a daughter of
Taejong, princess Junghae, and was appointed as Unsunggun. After his visit
to Ming dynasty as a delegate in the 5 th year of Sejong, he served in secretary
of Home Department, military general of left Gyeongsang-do, secretary of
State, and vice-minister, and later served in inspector of Hamgil-do.
In the first year of Danjong(1453), he was involved in the conflict
between Suyangdaegun and Boin Hwang and Jongseo Kim, conservatives
of Danjong and helped the situation. He was recognized as the
most helpful to resolve the conflict, and promoted to Unsung,
a father-in-law of a king¡¯s. The tomb placed in northeast direction
is the combined tomb with the one of princess Junghae. The table,
lamp stone, and tombstone are placed in front of the tomb and
4 stones for scholars are placed in left and right. There is
a writing in the back of the tombstone that indicates that it
was built in May in the 14 th year of Sejo(1468). His pen name
is Sungyeol. |
