Gate for 8 faithfuls is an award of gate, which was initially believed to be built during Sookjong¡¯s regime to commemorate 1 daughter-in-law and 7 sons in the family of Hong in Namyang, for their good deeds, in late Chosun era.

It was rebuilt from its remains survived during Korean War, by their descendants to commemorate their deeds, in October of 1988.

The list of the faithfuls includes Lady Jung of Dongrae, a wife of Yeogong Hong, Hangyeong Hong, Rim Hong, Bum Hong(1605~1693), Samjun Hong(1644~1715), Samsuk Hong(1654~1718), Hajuk Hong(1700~1778), and Jongok Hong(1737~1787).

All of them were supportive and respectful of their parents(in-laws), and praised by many for taking good care of their parents when they were sick.
