Soongeui Shrine Site
Yoonho(1424~1496), Youngwon, a father-in-law of a king¡¯s, is a civil minister
in early Chosun era. His family origin is Papyong, and formal name is Sookbo.
He was appointed as Youngwon, a father-in-law of a king¡¯s, when Sungjong
married to his daughter who became queen Jyeonghyeon. His pen name is Pyeongjung.
He passed the government exam in 1447, and served in minister
of justice, deputy delegate of Milyang, and local governor of
Yangju. In the 19 th year of Sungjong, he reached deputy delegate
of Youngdonryeong, and became a high ranked minister in the following
year. Until he died at the age of 73 in the 2 nd year of Yeonsangun(1496),
he was never arrogant and didn¡¯t take advantage of his position
as an in-law to the king.
Tombstone , table, and stone for incense burner are placed in
front of the tomb and stones for scholars are placed in both
sides. The tombstone has a place to put the main body of the
tombstone, main body and tail of a dragon. The main body of the
tombstone was oxidized in black, and the tail of a dragon is
well described along with cloud patterns. There is a monument
to commemorate his accomplishment in the lower part of the tomb.
The white marble monument with numerous bullet traces, which
made the writings on the stone illegible, has the main body and
exquisite patterns of clouds and a dragon. |
