Soongeui Shrine Site
Inham Yoon(1531-1597) was a civil minister in mid Chosun era. His formal name
is Yangsook, pen name is Jukjae, and his family origin is Papyong. He passed
government exam in 1553, at the age of 22, and served in many positions.
Although he was unfortunate to be replaced from his position
of governor of Gyeongju during the Japanese invasion in 1592,
he accomplished recapture of Gyeongju castle by recruiting soldiers
when the castle was overthrown. He served in a vice minister
and later vice minister of justice. He died from illness when
he went to Pyeongyang to meet a general of Ming dynasty as a
receptioner during the second invasion in the Japanese invasion
in 1592. He was good at writing and drawing, especially of bamboo.
He wrote ¡ì A book of Bamboo¡í .
The tomb is located in southeast direction on the top part within
family graveyard of Yoon. His tomb was combined with the one
of his wife, Lady Jungjung, Jung of Naju. Tombstone, table stone,
incense burner stone are placed in front of the tomb and stone
post and stone for scholars in left and right. In the left of
the tomb, a newly built monument by the descendants in 1987 is
placed, which has a place to put the main body, made of black
stone, and octagonal roof. |
