Im(1418~1543) to focus on academic research. It was founded as
Juja auditorium in 1700(26 th year of Sookjong).
Gaejung Im(1481~1543) retired from politics since many scholars including
Gwangjo Jo were sacrificed in liquidation and banishment occurred during the
regime of Jungjong in mid Chosun era. He went to Dongmak-li in Yeoncheon after
his retirement, and dedicated rest of his life to research on teaching of Juja.
Juja auditorium was given a new name ¡® Imjang ¡¯ from the king in 1713(39 th
year of Sookjong), and finally renamed ¡® Imjang auditorium ¡¯ .
After liquidation of auditoriums by Heungsun, the father of the king, in late
Chosun, even the left remains were lost in Korean War. Currrent building is
the result of restoration done in 1995~1998. Passing the red gate, 3 gates
and great sanctuary with 3 divisions are in the front. In the center of the
sanctuary, wooden panel for Juhee is placed. Panel for Gaejung Im is placed
in the right, for Shiyeol Song in the left.
